Princeton Announces New Stylish Monitor with Reduced Total Cost
Of Ownership - The EO700
SANTA ANA, May 20, 1998 - Princeton introduced the new EO700
monitor, designed for corporate users looking to reduce their
total cost of ownership (T.C.O.) for business equipment. "The
auto-setup and self-diagnostic utility reduce the amount of time
MIS may be needed for set up and troubleshooting at each desktop
under management ," said Charlie Pai, Princeton's Product Manager.
"In addition, asset management is simple with Plug and Play
compatibility because the model and serial number are
automatically queried from the server (i.e. Windows NT™, Novell™,
HP OpenView) to an asset database". Due to its new design, the
EO700 adds sleek style to corporate and SOHO desktops, with
optimum space-saving due to its small footprint. With advanced
On-Screen-Display, and TCO92 compliance for safety, Princeton
continues to provide feature packed monitors with affordable
pricing. The EO700 is available for $499 MSRP.
NEW ERGONOMIC DESIGN
The EO700 offers the sleek, new ergonomic design that introduces
high style furniture to the desktop for the first time. Using
reduced size electronic components created a smaller footprint,
which occupies less desktop space. With a maximum addressable
resolution of 1280x1024 at 66Hz, the EO700 performs flawlessly at
the latest VESA 1024x768 at 85Hz. Combined with a 0.28mm dot pitch
and 108MHz bandwidth, the EO700 ensures a clear, image.
Featuring a 17" (15.95" viewable) image, this ultra high
resolution color monitor offers the dark tinted, AART™ (Advanced
Anti-Reflection Technology coating) CRT with Invar shadow mask,
PreVuTM Digital Controls and ColorightTM Technology. Featuring
Plug and Play compatibility with Microsoft's Windows" 95 operating
system, the EO700 is compatible with Apple" MacintoshTM and Sun"
SPARCStationTM systems with an adapter.
PreVu™ ON-SCREEN DISPLAY
The intuitive, PreVuTM on-screen-display (OSD) user controls offer
animated icons which include brightness, contrast, horizontal
position and size, vertical position and vertical size, trapezoid,
parallelogram, pincushion, pin balance, rotation, ColorightTM
controls, OSD position and degauss. Advanced features include
ColorightTM Technology, a color temperature control with Red,
Green and Blue Gain adjustments and Advanced Screen Geometry
Controls (trapezoid, pincushion, rotation/tilt).
For international needs, the OSD offers language selection for
English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Advanced features
include a color temperature control with Red Gain and Blue Gain
adjustments, a trapezoid (keystone), pincushion and a rotation
(tilt) control.
AUTO SET-UP FEATURE
The EO700 has a unique auto setup feature, which provides a
one-button solution to monitor set up. This feature was designed
to help novice users get the monitor running at its full potential
and reduce help desk support time for medium to large
corporations.
SELF DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY
The self-diagnostic utility reduces troubleshooting time for the
computer system by identifying if the monitor is the root cause of
the malfunction, therefore eliminating the guess work of the
system, graphics card or monitor's problem. Should there be a
problem with the monitor, simply disconnect the monitor from the
system, toggle the monitor off, then back on and the self
diagnostic screen indicates if the monitor is working properly.
This self-diagnostic feature is ideal for reducing troubleshooting
time and subsequently the total cost of ownership of each computer
system.
PLUG AND PLAY
The EO700 incorporates Plug and Play technology to support
Microsoft's Windows 95 operating system and VESA"'s new
communication standard for the Display Data Channel (DDC1 and
DDC2b). Plug and Play is a communication tool that enables a
monitor to identify itself to the computer and automatically set
itself, when using a compatible video card, producing an optimal
match between the system's capabilities and the monitor's
performance. Custom setups are eliminated and resolution switching
is "on the fly" with Win95's user-friendly control panel. The
EO700 is compatible with Apple" and Sun Sparc" systems with an
adapter.
ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND
The EO700 is environmentally sound and meets or exceed the EPA's
Energy StarSM program for power savings and SWEDAC MPR II
guidelines for low electromagnetic and static emissions. In
compliance with VESA"'s Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS`)
for power management, the EO700 powers down to sleep mode when not
in use.
