Digital Flat Panel Displays
Superior Performance, Latest DFP Technology & USB Capabilities
Put New 18.1-Inch Digital Monitor in a League of its Own
SANTA ANA, Calif., April 20, 1999 - Princeton Digital (USA) Corp.,
a leading manufacturer of computer and high-definition displays,
introduces the newest addition to its line of digital flat panel (DFP)
displays - the DPP800. As the company's first offering in this
size category, the new 18.1-inch monitor combines the latest DFP
technology with superior image quality and performance into an
attractive thin, lightweight design competitively priced at
$2,895.
Measuring a mere three inches deep and weighing only 22 pounds,
the DPP800 offers a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024, a contrast
ratio of 230:1, and a brightness level of 200 cd/m2. In addition,
the new unit supports 16.7 million colors and automatically scales
images to fill the screen at any resolution, ensuring a superb
viewing experience.
"As the first manufacturer to commercially offer a digital flat
panel display, Princeton has always been at the forefront of the
LCD industry," said Tom Paterniti, vice president of product
marketing. "The DPP800 is another example of our commitment to
product excellence. In addition to the obvious physical advantages
of the DPP800, users will enjoy definitively sharper image
quality, control and performance. Users will also benefit from the
large screen size and lack of electromagnetic emissions, resulting
in reduced eye strain and increased productivity."
Using a 20-pin connector, a new digital video interface recently
approved by VESA" which utilizes PanelLink` (or TDMS), the DPP800
seamlessly displays images without the signal impurities caused by
the traditional conversion process from digital to analog to
digital. By using PanelLink, display signals are directly and
precisely transmitted to the panel, providing users with
crystal-clear, vibrant, polished images.
In addition, the DPP800 incorporates a USB-powered hub, providing
users with fast and easy connectivity to additional USB-compliant
peripherals, such as a scanner, printer or digital camera.
Providing installation flexibility, the DPP800 is compliant with
VESA's Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface Standard,
and therefore is compatible with a variety of arm or wall mounting
kits.
The DPP800 is compatible with IBM", UNIX", Apple" Macintosh",
Power Macintosh", Windows" 95, and high-resolution third-party
graphics standards and meets all major emission and power
management standards, including TCO 99, MPR-II, EPA Energy Star`,
DPMS`, and NUTEK`. The monitor is backed by a three-year parts and
labor warranty, and a three-year backlight warranty.
