Princeton-Branded HDTV Monitor Specified by Joe Kane Ships
LAS VEGAS (April 19, 1999) - Princeton Digital (USA) Corp. a
leading manufacturer of award-winning computer and convergence
displays, announced that it has begun delivery of its new direct
view 30-inch viewable HDTV monitor, the AF3.0HD. Joe Kane, CEO of
Joe Kane Productions, assisted in specifying and monitored the
design and quality control phases of the AF3.0HD that supports all
ATSC HDTV formats, video and VGA, SVGA and XGA resolutions from
computer sources. It is the first direct view 16:9 aspect ratio
monitor to display all HDTV formats while maintaining
compatibility with today's current NTSC signal.
"The AF3.0HD offers a superb high definition, widescreen image
with remarkable sharpness and clarity," said William Wang,
president and CEO Princeton Graphic Systems. "Because of its
outstanding performance and versatility -- and specification from
industry guru Joe Kane -- the AF3.0HD is the ideal solution for
broadcast studio and stage production, post production as well as
professional and commercial audio/video and high-end home theater
applications."
Combining the performance of a studio quality video monitor with
useful features such as four preset aspect ratios, the AF3.0HD
also includes six preset memories for the most common DTV
resolution formats -- 480p, 720p, 1080i -- and for VGA, SVGA and
XGA. It has a horizontal scanning range up to 50 kHz and custom
memory settings for black level, contrast, geometry and masking.
Three color temperature settings are provided: 6500°K, 5400°K and
"custom" user-defined settings.
Princeton's HDTV monitor features a fine pitch, 16:9 high
resolution Invar Mask CRT with a special Microfilter” to provide a
seven percent increase in color accuracy and 30 percent more
brightness and contrast than a standard Shadow Mask CRT. The
AF3.0HD offers the outstanding performance -- including excellent
gray scale linearity, color fidelity and flat field uniformity --
demanded by today's discriminating video professionals. Adding to
its versatility, the high light output CRT allows the AF3.0HD to
be used in high ambient light conditions.
The AF3.0HD includes multiple inputs for digital, analog and HDTV.
YPbPr, RGBHV, VGA, S-video (Y/C) and composite inputs are
provided. The versatile AF3.0HD accommodates HDTV, VCR, DVD, video
conferencing, computer presentations as well as
professional/commercial and high-end home theater applications.
The S-video and composite video signals are processed with the
AF3.0HD's built-in line doubler for enhanced resolution.
Additional professional features include an oversized high voltage
power supply, double shielding, blue-only mode, HDTV tri-level
sync and a wide (40MHz) video bandwidth. Two remote controls are
provided: one for end users and one for installation calibration.
A built-in stereo audio amplifier and two speakers are also
provided.
With a suggested list price of only $4,100, the AF3.0HD combines
unparalleled performance, versatility and value. The AF3.0HD
features exceptional build quality and is responsibly engineered
to be EPA Energy Star` and VESA" compliant to ensure many years of
trouble-free, environment-friendly usage. Currently shipping, the
